2001 Company Overview

Located in Waterbury, CT, 2001 Company has been installing/manufacturing roofing systems since 1948. Initially started as Kelly Roofing Company some 6 months after Carlisle Syntec began, the company has set many precedents in the roofing industry. The Kellys were the first company to manufacture and promote mechanically fastened roof systems in the United States. They were also the originators of the Negative Pressure Roofing System (link to info below “About Wind Vented Systems”). The trained many of the top personnel in the industry in the manufacturing process of EPDM. Tom Kelly began utilizing seam tapes in his EPDM roof systems some 20 years ago while most manufacturers endured years of seam failures with splice cements. Most recently, Tom Kelly has innovated a method for fastening steel decking to achieve uplifts of over 255 PSF. Tom Kelly, President of 2001 Company holds some 26 patents regarding roofing applications, techniques and products with many patents pending. He is recognized as an innovator in the roofing industry and is involved in many industry associations. 2001 Co. works with many manufacturers and architects on matters of wind uplift and actively promotes our findings and research with the entire roofing industry.

2001 Co. Services – To provide roof asset management to building owners, 2001 Company offers a comprehensive roof maintenance program. This program involves routine inspections of the condition of the facility’s roof, scheduling repairs, and also in some cases the instrumentation of the roof for real time roof performance monitoring and leak detection.

Warranty Issuance Procedure – All 2001 roof assemblies are required to have a minimum of a Material Only Warranty. All contractors must be approved with the 2001 Company in order to install 2001 Systems. It is the contractors responsibility at the beginning of every project to submit a completed intent to Warranty which must be signed by the building owner or owner’s agent. The Intent form provides a space for roof diagram, which is to include dimensions and penetrations. Then a Completion of Work Statement must be completed and signed by the roofing contractor at the end of the project. Each roof is inspected by a Certified 2001 Company inspector. A completed and signed punchlist must be submitted, even if a re-inspection is required. The punchlist items are to be corrected within thirty (30) days, or a re-inspection may be necessary. Full payment is required on all 2001 Company materials invoices and payment of warranty fees, including any rider, before a warranty will be issued. If a Wind Warranty Rider (link to sample) is required indicate mph or amount on back of the Intent to Warranty form. The 2001 Company Perpetual Care Warranty includes wind protection up to 50 mph.
